Contact Originators SME Marketing Communications Strategy

We developed a marketing communications strategy for Contact Originators, a company renowned for its highly innovative approach to packaging origination, graphics management and flexographic plate production.

The Brief

We were tasked with developing a full communications strategy that positioned Contact Originators as the printer’s partner of choice for reprographics and flexographic plate making. This included a rebrand, new responsive website and a comprehensive content marketing plan that covered PR, article placement and social media management.

Our Activity

We worked in collaboration with our partners, Design by PH, to refresh the Contact Originator brand and build a new responsive website. We aimed to support the growth strategy of the innovative SME by promoting a ‘leaders never follow’ philosophy and boosting the company’s expert status.

Once the foundations were in place, we designed a balanced marketing mix, using key themes such as innovation, expert status and capabilities, across PR, thought leadership and social media.

What our clients say:

We’re delighted with the work PHD has done to support us and, in particular, their efficient and compassionate handling of Contact crisis communications following a fire at our facility. PHD swiftly communicated the message that it was very much business as usual for Contact, despite the event.

Results

In 2019, we generated a print and digital readership of over a quarter of a million people for Contact. Our social media strategy resulted in steadily improved stats, which were uplifted by the placement of video posts. The communications strategy progressed extremely well as our relationship with Contact developed.

In early 2020, the company’s trust in our ability to deliver accurate and timely communications came to the fore, following a fire at its Bredbury, Stockport facility. We promptly handled Contact’s crisis communications, sharing an initial ‘business as usual’ message instead ensuring retention of business, outreach from the flexo sector and confidence in the progression of the company. Today, Contact has an exciting future ahead and is investing to grow.
